BE-NeST held its kick-off meeting on 12 October 2024 in Hamburg, with founding members travelling from Mainz, Berlin and Kiel, and others joining online.
BE-NeST conducted its kick-off meeting on 12 October 2024 in Hamburg. Members travelled from Mainz, Berlin, Kiel and Hamburg to the Hamburg University of Technology in Harburg, with a hybrid setup for those unable to attend in person.
Agenda of the meeting
A summary of the important milestones, from the initial conception to the registration of the association as well as ongoing activities, was presented by Dr. Birhanu Kinfu.
Dr. Aderajew Waka gave a talk titled “Opportunities and challenges of professional diaspora associations in Germany, and lessons learned”, sharing his experience from several collaborative projects. It was followed by an in-depth discussion in the context of BE-NeST e.V. and potential project partners.
Dr. Seid Muhie Yimam then highlighted the important steps to develop the association's website and related IT topics. The meeting concluded by voting in the board members who will serve BE-NeST e.V. for the next two years.
